Ferndale’s diverse population and friendly culture make it an ideal place for individuals and families of any demographic.  We have a growing number of people in the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) communities, and several organizations in Ferndale that serve this group.  Affirmations, the LGBT Community Center, is located at 290 W. 9 Mile Road.  The center offers a meeting place for many other LGBT groups.  Transgender Michigan and The Michigan Aids Coalition are located in the Pride Building at 429 Livernois.  The Metropolitan Detroit Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce meets at Paramount Bank, and the Metropolitan Community Church caters to the LGBT crowd.  Additionally there are many gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses and clubs in the area.  This page provides an ever-growing picture of Ferndale’s gay community.
