DIY and Funky Ferndale:  offering another FREE Fun Filled weekend of activities!!!

This weekend, September 17^th – 19^th the streets of downtown Ferndale will be filled with Art, Music, Food, Activities for Kids and Much Much more.  It’s a time where people all over Michigan can come to relax and enjoy the beauty of music, art, food and the spirit of Ferndale!!!  Parking is on both sides of Woodward.  For the environmentally savvy, there will be a bike corral located on Troy Street by the NEW library.

The Funky Ferndale Art Fair will have for the first time, the Live Green Fair.   Not only will you be able to enjoy the beauty of local artists but this year you will also be able to connect with some of the best “Green” resources Michigan has to offer.  Along with artists such as mixed media artistis, Douglas & Vicki Rop & Metal artist Wendy Lewis you can find Environmental Savvy vendors like 360Water, Whole Foods Market, Greening Detroit and Center for Natural Healing.  Vendors and Activities can be found on the West side of Woodward on Nine Mile Rd.  Show hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 on Friday the 17^th, 10:00 to 8:00 on Saturday the 18^th and from 11:00 to 5:00 on Sunday the 19^th. 

The 3^rd Annual DIY Street Fair is presented by the Woodward Avenue Brewers and will be on the East Side of Woodward just South of Nine Mile on Troy Street.  With the help of many local companies and businesses in the surrounding areas, the DIY Street Fair offers activities for every type of personality. This event celebrates do-it-yourself creative and entrepreneurial endeavors.  Come out and support Michigan businesses by enjoying a day filled with local artists, crafters, businesses, groups and organizations, musicians, restaurants, brewers and others who live and work with a do-it-yourself attitude .  Surrounding all the wonderful handmade products you can find in the Marketplace, Kids can enjoy plays and activities in the Kids Zone, over 30 bands will be performing over the course of the weekend, you can enjoy Michigan crafted beers at the Beer Garden along with great food from 7 local restaurants.  Vendors and activities begin on Friday the 17^th at 6:00pm until 12:00am, Saturday the 18^th from 11:00am to 12:am and on Sunday from 12:00pm to 12:00am.  Be sure to check out www.diystreetfair.com for a full list of activities and events.
