Ferndale is Going to the Dogs

(Crystal A. Proxmire)

Several pooch-related festivities are planned for Ferndale this month, including a Blessing of the Pets, a barbecue for Waggs and Wishes, and Woof Wednesdays each week at the Kulick Center.

BLESSING OF THE PETS

Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church, located at 2441 Pinecrest Avenue in Ferndale, will be holding their second annual “Blessing of the Pets” Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:30am.

Pastor Scott Miller will preside over a short service dedicated to those trusted four-legged family members who never let us down.  Afterwards pets treats, fellowship, and tours of the building will be available.  Please bring your friends, family and your pets to this very special occasion.  Call the church office at 248.546.8360, or visit us at www.draytonavenue.org for more information.

This new weekly events connects families with pets at the Kulick Center at 1201 Livernois.  It’s a great time for dogs, kids and grownups to play. There are also dog-themed speakers and vendors when available.  On September 22 there will be a representative from Gozo dog collars on hand to show off their custom pet leashes and collars.  Come to the Kulick Center on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm to be part of Ferndale’s Woof Wednesdays.
