Paycheck to Paycheck, Exhibition I opens at The Butcher’s Daughter

On September 4, 2010 The Butcher’s Daughter (22747 Woodward, Suite 201) held their first show of their second season, an exhibit called Paycheck to Paycheck Exhibit I.
The exhibit features six Detroit artists in groups of three. It’s a two-part exhibit with each set displayed for two weeks, mimicking a worker’s pay cycle. You can catch Part I now through Sept. 18, 2010.
The first set showcased sculpture, collage and photography by Nate Morgan, Kevin Beasley and Christina Galasso.
“These are all what I consider really young artists, all under 33, who are developing here in the Detroit area,” said Monica Bowman, Director of The Butcher’s Daughter. “We thought this would be a good theme for the times we are in.”
The Butcher’s Daughter’s website (www.thebutchersdaughtergallery.com) has information on this and other upcoming exhibits, along with an interview with artist Kevin Beasley.
