Pub Crawl

(Crystal A. Proxmire)

The 14th annual Ferndale Pub Crawl took place on July 30, 2010 at 22 local watering holes within a 6 block area of Downtown Ferndale.  The Pub Crawl raises money for four local charities: The Ferndale Police Auxiliary, MAC (Midwest AIDS Coalition), The Ferndale Community Foundation, and FernCare. Last year the Crawl raised over $20,000.  Totals for this year are not yet in.

The crawl began at Boogie Fever, and groups of between 50-100 left in color-coded groups to travel from bar to bar, spending about 15 minutes in each establishment.  The event brings a rush of business to the pubs and bars involved, and is one night where people of all demographics mingle at places they may not normally go, and chat with people they may not normally know.  The event’s website is - www.ferndalepubcrawl.org.
