SE Michigan Dyke March

On June 5, 2010 Ferndale was home to the first annual SE Michigan Dyke March.  According to their website - http://www.semidykemarch.org/about.html - “The Southeast Michigan Dyke March is based on a worldwide movement. We use the term Dyke March as a means of identifying with other Dyke Marches that came before us…While the word dyke can be offensive, using it in a context that promotes visibility, rights and inclusion can actually be empowering.”

If you would like to write a more comprehensive article on the Dyke March, please make it 400-1000 words and e mail it to editor@ferndale115.com.  Thanks!  And thanks to Julia Music for taking photographs of this event!
