Ferndale, Michigan – A jobless recovery means that the fight over the existing jobs has become even more intense. An applicant’s resume and cover letter is their first step to attracting attention but the most important aspect of gaining employment is the interview with a potential employer. DESIGNER RESALE BOUTIQUE and several local businesses will assist four unemployed workers or college student winners, look great and feel good about themselves while searching for the right job.

Local Michigan residents are being asked to write a 200 to 500 word essay (photos welcome) describing why they deserve an employment make-over.

Applicants must be over the age of 18 and be either unemployed or currently enrolled as a student at a local college and seeking employment in their career field.

Responses should be emailed to akeely@dresaleb.com or mailed to 22442 Woodward Avenue, Ferndale, Michigan 48220 and postmarked by July 31, 2010 with winners being announced in August 2010. Judges of this contest are influential local business professionals and will be announced at a later date.

Each essay will be reviewed by the panel of local judges and narrowed down to the top ten finalists. The selected finalists will be asked to conduct an interview either in-person or via conference call with our judging panel. At that point, four of the ten finalists will be selected as winners of the contest. Each winner will receive:

"WE LOVE MOM" Mother's Day Contest 2010@

Celebrate "Moms" of all ages by entering your favorite Mom in our "We Love Mom" contest. Enter your Mom or someone that you feel is a great Mom to someone else. Two  prize packages will be awarded. One to a New Mom who has only been a mom for 3 years, a SECOND award will be given to the Experienced Mom of 3 or more years.

Event Schedule: Immediate until Midnight, May 8th

Awards: Each recipient will receive a Reflections Bracelet and a $50 Chinn Jewelry Gift Certificate, a beautiful floral arrangement from Blumz...by JRDesigns, an Essential Massage Therapy certificate for an hour long massage, a haircut, style and make up by Flip Salon and a Candlewick Shoppe candle basket.
                The New Mom will also receive a dinner for 2 at Coach Insignia and tickets for 2 to an upcoming production at the Gem and Century Theater.
